IMPLEMENTATION OF THE COMMITMENTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA ON COMPETITION AND STATE AID COMPONENT DISCUSSED IN BRUSSELS

On 29 November this year, the President of the Competition Council, Alexei GHERȚESCU, participated in the "9th Meeting of the Association Committee in the EU-Moldova Trade Configuration", as part of the official delegation of the Republic of Moldova, led by Vadim GUMENE, State Secretary of the Ministry of Economy.


The meeting addressed and discussed the main achievements of the Republic of Moldova in implementing the provisions of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement, DCFTA component.


In this regard, the Competition Council presented information on the stage of implementation of the Operational Conclusions of the meeting as of 16.12.2021 as well as the most important achievements in Chapter X, Competition of the Moldova-European Union Association Agreement, reached during 2022.


Therewith, the main concerns and challenges in the implementation of the commitments undertaken by the Republic of Moldova on the competition and State aid component were discussed, such as: harmonization of national legislation with the EU Acquis, alignment, by 2024, of all existing State aid schemes in the Free Economic Zones, strengthening the institutional capacities of the Competition Council, etc.
