Call for the Proposals on the Project No. 4 of the Energy Efficiency Fund, authorized by the Competition Council

     The Competition Council has examined the notification received from the Energy efficiency Fund on the establishment of the state aid scheme related to the Call for the Proposals on the Project No.4 in the sphere of Energy Efficiency and the exploitation of Renewable Energy Sources.

     The Fund will focus on providing financial support for projects or their parts, which require Energy Efficiency measures and / or exploitation of Renewable Energy Sources for the rehabilitation of buildings in all sectors of the national economy.

     The amounts provided for project financing will be in the range from 300 thousand to 5 million lei per beneficiary.

     Thus, based on the Decision of the Plenum of the Competition Council No. 38 of October 27, 2014, the measure notified by the Energy Efficiency Fund, is to establish a scheme for financing of the projects aimed at environmental protection, constitutes State aid in purpose of the Art. 3 of the Law on State Aid No. 139 of June 15, 2012.

     The Competition Council has approved this scheme of aid for environmental protection, with a total budget of 50 million lei.  The supplier shall notify the individual aid granted under this scheme if it will exceed the minimis threshold.

     Also, in case of the budget amendment of state aid scheme in order to increase it with more than 20%, the supplier shall notify the Competition Council.
