In the period of May 3rd – 4th, a Competition Council delegation made a visit to Budapest, Hungary, to take the best practices in enforcing state aid law in supplying general economic services of interest.

The purpose of the visit was to deepen the knowledge on the effective application of the Altmark criteria, including the presentation of relevant case studies as a way to allow participants to manage similar scenarios in their daily work.

During the event, the best qualified experts from Hungary and the European Commission’s General Directorate for Competition shared the European Union’s experience in granting / delegating rights and obligations to provide services of general interest in the light of the EU regulatory framework.
