The event was organized with the support of the EU Project “Support to the Competition Council”, funded by European funds.
On the occasion of the World Competition Day, today, December 5th 2017, we opened the doors for a group of students from the State University “Alecu Russo” from Balti.
The event has an interactive character, the Competition Council s guests will be acquainted with general notions of competition and state aid, will learn about the latest decisions and resounding cases, as well as about the activity of the Competition Council and will have an exclusive trip to the Competition Council s Museum.
Traditionally, World Competition Day is celebrated by competition authorities around the world through various activities such as: seminars, conferences, trainings etc.
This holiday was introduced in 2010 at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) initiative to mark the 30th anniversary of the United Nations General Assembly (UN) 1980’s adoption of the Ensemble of principles and fair rules agreed at multilateral level to control restrictive trade practices. This document is used by many developing countries to develop and adopt new competition laws.
