One of the main attribution of the Competition Council is responsibility to prevent possible actions that could distort the normal competitive environment. Or, one of the actions taken by the competition authority, in order to perform this task is the organization of meetings with key actors that could influence the competitive environment.
In this regard, on May, 16 2014, the Competition Council held a meeting with some potential beneficiaries of State aid, which provide services of general economic interest. During this meeting, to participants were told about their right to report the received state aid its notification methods.
Beneficiaries are entitled to inform the Competition Council on received State aid as it is provided in art. 23 (3) of Law No 139 of 15.06.2012 on State aid. This right grants state aid beneficiaries the possibility to ensure that the received aid can not be declared as illegal and subsequently returned to the state.
