Competition Council will receive assistance under the World Bank Project of Competitiveness Enhancement II.
The assistance is offered to support the Competition Council achieve its basic objective, which is to ensure and improve the normal competitive environment, guaranteeing free entrepreneurial activity and to strengthen its capabilities in order to be able to perform the tasks optimally, and thus reduce the possibility of productive potential disturbance by anti-competitive practices.
Project provides support granting to competition authority in removing existing constraints such as identifying main competitive barrier in those areas where the lack of competitive conditions hinder competitiveness at local and export level, development of a systematic methodology for determining product and geographic markets in which enterprises compete usually, conducting promotional seminars and training activities, provision of support in the form of expert consultants, etc.
It should be mentioned that the World Bank Project of Competitiveness Enhancement II targets the providing of support to improve business environment in Republic of Moldova and, in particular, increase the competitiveness of domestic enterprises and the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova is that authority responsible for ensuring competition legislation, which by actions for avoiding anti-competitive practices and competitive elimination of violations is a trustee for a normal competitive environment.
