On June 27, 2014, Viorica CARARE, President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova and Lilia Bolocan, Director General of the State Agency on Intellectual Property has signed a cooperation agreement.
The agreement was signed during the bilateral meeting of the President of the Competition Council and the Competition Council members of the Plenum of the Competition Council with the administration of the SAIP.
Signing of the agreement by the two parties will contribute to strengthening and improving cooperation relations between these two institutions in order to ensure the implementation and enforcement of national legislation in the areas of work of these institutions.
At the same time the signed document provides for the collaboration of Competition Council with SAIP in the process of conducting market research and analysis, in order to know more accurately the markets in areas of common interest; in the effective enforcement of competition legislation; in order to prevent and deter anti-competitive practices which have as their object or may have the effect of restricting, preventing or distorting competition; mutual consultation on current issues arising in connection with implementation of the legislation on the work areas of the both parties, etc.
Leaders of both institutions expressed their belief that the signing of the collaboration agreement will help coordinate efforts to strengthen the national system of protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights, to prevent and deter anti-competitive practices, including the intellectual property sphere.
