In the period 20-22 January 2025, in Brussels, will be analyzed the legal framework of the Republic of Moldova in the field of competition. In this context, for one week, several preparatory meetings were held at the Competition Council for the presentation of chapter 8 „Policy in the field of competition”.

The meetings were attended by members of the Working Group on Chapter 8, representatives of the Bureau for European Integration and the Centre for Harmonization of Legislation, as well as the deputy prime minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov.

During the simulation exercises, the rapporteurs presented the key topics to be discussed in Brussels: the antitrust rules applicable to businesses, the general legal and institutional framework, and, combating corruption in competition and state aid, merger control and state aid rules.

„This intensive training underlines our commitment to the European integration process and to the respect of the highest European standards. In-depth discussions and simulations allow us to improve presentations and identify issues that require additional attention”, said Alexei Ghertescu, President of the Competition Council.
