For the effective and fair implementation of the Law on state aid and its provisions, between 22-23 May 2014 Viorica CARARE, President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova with Mr. Emil GUTU  Vice President and Mr. Ion MAXIM member of the Plenum of Competition Council, made visits to Donduseni, Edinet Riscani, Soroca and Telenesti.

     The meeting was attended by mayors and secretaries of district localities councils, officials within the executive body of District Councils, representing the presence of about 90%. During the meetings they were informed about the need to implement the Law on state aid, but also about the penalties that can be imposed for failure to comply with the aforementioned act.
The attention was drawn to the role of LPA as providers of aid and terms of implementation of the Law on state aid and on penalties that can be imposed for failure to comply with the aforementioned act.

     “Qualification of local government actions as State aid can not be made arbitrarily, every case as a possible aid requires an individual analysis, and the state aid compatibility with a normal competitive environment can be established only on the legal basis, pursued objectives and economic calculations. “- mentioned in a context Mrs. Viorica CARARE .

     At the same time the President pf Competition Council specified that ĂœLaw on state aid will create conditions for the recovery of European funds available in the pre-accession period and will ensure avoidance of the situations when these funds were partially absorbed namely because the Law was not implemented in time.”

     The purpose of the meeting lied in promoting effective collaboration with providers and beneficiaries of state aid and granting specialized assistance on the ways to grant state aid in order to create a normal competitive environment, which is the guarantee of successful implementation of Republic of Moldova commitments competition field.
