A Memorandum of Cooperation in the field of Competition was signed on Friday, November 17, by Mrs. Viorica CĂRARE, the President of the Competition Council of the Republic of Moldova, and Mr. Nodar KHADURI, The Chairman of the Competition Agency of Georgia.
The document was signed during the visit of Mrs. CĂRARE, in Tbilisi, Georgia, where the International Conference “Competition Policy: Perspectives and Challenges” takes place on November 16-17.
The Memorandum aims at stimulating professional cooperation between the two authorities; to promote and intensify the exchange of experience and information, including in the field of investigations, with regard to breaches of competition rules. The document also provides for periodic consultations, both at the level of the management of these bodies, as well as at the level of experts for competition advocacy.
“The Republic of Moldova is taking a step forward in the field of bilateral and international cooperation in the field of competition. It is useful to take Georgia’s experience in this respect and, obviously, we can promote the best competitive practices from our country,” said Viorica CĂRARE.
In his turn, Nodar KHADURI, the Chairman of the Competition Agency of Georgia, welcomed the opening and progress of the Republic of Moldova in the field of competition.
At the Tbilisi Conference, Viorica CĂRARE also presented a speech on promoting the competitive environment in the Republic of Moldova.
